In the Myrtle Beach area, Litchfield Country Club is regarded as a favorite year after year by local residents and visitors alike. Since the Willard Byrd-designed course opened, golfers continue to be attracted to the natural beauty of Lowcountry golf that Litchfield Country Club provides.
Located in the beautiful Pawleys Island community, Litchfield Country Club sits amid towering oaks and pine trees. Litchfield is a traditional shot-maker’s golf course with numerous doglegs that require strategic placement off the tee to give you the best angle into the well-protected greens. Its overall length is 6,752 yards from the tips but the course plays deceptively long and has five sets of tees to make it a fair test of golf for all players. Litchfield is one of the more lady-friendly golf courses in the Myrtle Beach area and does not require long forced carries over hazards to play effectively.
Litchfield Country Club, with all its southern charm, is dedicated to serving not only your golfing needs by providing a great golfing experience and weekly golf clinics to help improve your game, but can serve your social needs as well. Litchfield Country Club offers you and your family a special place to host a wedding, meeting or special family event. Check out the recently remodeled Clubhouse and let them show you how they can provide a memorable Lowcountry experience and excellent service.
If you’re visiting the Myrtle Beach area we invite you to come enjoy a day at Litchfield Country Club, recognized by Golf Digest “2008 Places to Play” and 4.5 stars.

After 1 1/2 hour frost delay we got out in the same order as the tee time schedule which is hard to maintain with the delay. The staff was a little gruff. The course is in good shape considering all the wet weather. Tees were good and greens were in great shape. I will return.

Greens in very good condition for Jan. Two fairways had challenges due to heavy rain. Love this traditional layout. Great for walkers. Long hitter may have to pull a three wood on occasion. Lengthy par threes make up for some shorter holes.

The course was in great condition, the tee sheet was full and we hardly saw another group on the course. Great traditional style golf course with not a lot of forced carry, that the ladies enjoyed.

Really enjoyed Litchfield CC. We played on Thursday, the fairways and greens were in pristine condition, even after all the rain on Tuesday and Wednesday. We appreciated going off as a twosome, there are clubs that won't allow that. Great time.

Call them underrated, undervalued or even under-appreciated. We call them five of the Grand Strand’s “Best Bang for the Buck.” Ian Guerin spotlights five courses you'll know were worth every dollar you spent.
The Tom Jackson Signature Course offers a little bit of everything you expect in a Lowcountry golf course: Holes for big hitters and strategists; plenty of water and, somehow, seemingly more sand; immaculate fairways and pristine greens; wildlife that includes alligators, fox squirrels and varied bird species.
Members and first-time visitors to this old rice plantation land love it, because both parties love the course. And much like the owners relied on patience instead of knee-jerk reactions, navigating Litchfield Country Club requires the same self-control.
The Grand Strand’s southern beaches reside in South Carolina’s spectacular Lowcountry, an area rich in history and revered for its unspoiled beauty. And if you’re lucky enough to spend time here, you’ll soon discover it is also home to some of America’s premier resorts and golf courses.
