MB National King's North - 4900 National Dr Myrtle Beach, SC
This sensational Arnold Palmer signature course was recognized among America's Best New Courses when it opened in 1996.
King's North made its way onto Golf Digest's prestigiuos list of "America's 100 Greatest Public Courses- 2004" and Golf Digest's "Places to Play" has awarded it 4.5 STARS ever since! Plus, from 2000-2004 Golf for Women ranked it their "Top 100 Courses in America", truly a must play in the Myrtle Beach area.
Famous for the island green and South Carolina shaped sand traps of Hole 3; the famed par-5 sixth hole, nicknamed "The Gambler" that tempts golfers with a shortcut to the green via an island fairway. (Two great shots allow a chance to eagle); and with over 40 sand traps guarding the fairway on Hole 18 it is easy to see why this has been the most recognized and requested course on the beach for over 25 years.

Tees, fairways, bunkers were all in great condition. Everything was good for all the play they get. The bent greens were good. There is plenty of room off the tee, you can see most hazards, but you have to hit various iron shots with the correct club to hit the proper tier of the undulating greens. Most approach shots are over sand or water. The bag drop can be crazy with 3 busy courses. Ask the carts guys to get loaded up so you can proceed to your course. There is no housing, 10-minute tee times, many fun signature holes and an opportunity to score well if you can avoid the hazards. The 3 courses at MBN have a bunch of fox squirrels looking for a handout from you or your cart and the turtles at KN #10 tee come to the shore when they see carts arrive. The bunker in front of the green on #5 has been rebuilt into a more severe pot bunker, like the road hole bunker at St. Andrews. ... Read More05/14/2012
