Dan Maples created a beauty when designing this course, with 500 acres of pristine wetlands and thick pine forests providing a challenge for golfers who venture too far off the fairways. Recognized by Golf Digest with 4.5 stars in its “Places to Play Guide,” The Sun News has also honored it as the “Best Golf Course for the Money” and a finalist for best Myrtle Beach golf course. The signature hole is No. 9 – a 373-yard par 4 that head pro Graham Williams claims is “The Witch in a nutshell: not particularly long but very challenging.”
The Witch Golf Club has recently earned an overall rating of 8.4 from reviewers at the Myrtle Beach Golf Insider, garnering praise for the course layout, friendly staff, and the diverse wildlife the course offers.

We received tickets for a hotdog or ready sandwich, chips and a fountain drink. The flagsticks are orange for front, white for middle and black stripe for back. The old style bermuda greens were overseeded and mowed down with good speed, as one of the best old bermuda greens in MB. The greens were firm, fast and putted true,
like the new hybrids. The roughs are also overseeded here, so if you like all green in the winter and early spring, consider the 3 Mystical courses. The Witch is tree lined, no housing, just Hwy 544 along ##11. Most of the woods are a wetlands, but few hazard stakes remain from years ago, so if you have a tournament,
the spooky woods should be played as a hazard for your group. If you like lots of trees, without housing or parallel holes, you should like The Witch. It's not full of flowers or a modern clubhouse, but it's usually well maintained. This is a course where it is
best to start on ##10, since it's next to the range and putting green, is easier than the front nine and ##9 is a good finishing hole. On hole ##9, drive it about 250 (out near the bunker) from the white tee, to reach the corner and avoid a surprise tree
problem on the left. It looks like you only need to hit it 200 yards off the tee, but you need to hit further.

Too much of a swamp for me. Would not schedule the course in the future.

Played on April 29th & it had poured Sunday night. Cart path only, & course was wet, wet, wet. We got in 15 holes, before the heavens opened up. Take note, no rain check for even nine holes once you've made the turn. Also no sirens/horn for Lightning, it was right overhead when we bailed. We play this course every trip, conditions were absolutely LUSH !!! This course had the only real rough we have seen so far on this trip. Still was not an issue to find the ball though. It's a very playable course, very unique & almost a guarantee that you'll see Gators. Saw a bunch of babies with a big Momma gator, saw a water moccasin snake on cart path between #4 & 5. Great place for wildlife. These wet greens were truer than the greens at MBN Kings North the next day. We will be back. Decent range.

This was my favorite course, however the starter was somewhat rude when we made the turn. My foursome was all women and there were about 75 men getting ready to start behind us. The typical hurry up because we were women! We never held anyone up and never saw the men behind us the entire day. I think the starter could have taken a slightly nicer tone with us. Otherwise the day was perfect!

Played 6 rounds and this was by far the most enjoyable. And it wasn't because of the score I shot. Great shape, although the rough was too deep. Greens were the best we played on. But tough to read. A must play.

Greens were very fast, fairways extremely nice, the view very scenic (alligators, various birds, wild turkeys) we watched an eagle snatch up a squirrel, an alligator tried to grab a bird as it flew by & wild turkeys running around. You can't beat the deal at the turn 2 dogs & 2 beers on the house. The only negative would be losing balls in the rough it was very shaggy. We will return next year & the year after!
