Aberdeen Country Club recently earned an overall rating of 8.2 from reviewers at Myrtle Beach Golf Insider, garnering particular recent praise for the quality of its greens and overall course conditions.

Aberdeen gives the golfer a unique opportunity to try their golfing skills on three different 9-hole courses. The Highlands nine offers slight ties to the old Scottish courses, with rolling and generous fairways off the tee and undulations that make those on the Highlands nine some of the most severe on the Grand Strand. Its next nine, Meadows, starts off narrow and demands precision. After the first hole it begins to open up and gives the golfer an opportunity to “grip it and rip it.”

Aberdeen’s third nine, Woodlands, is known as one of the more challenging courses on the Grand Strand. The Woodlands course offers an excellent mixture of tree-lined fairways and penalizing water hazards that will test your game. Great scenery and wildlife surround this nine-hole layout, where you won't find a home anywhere in sight. Only a 20-minute ride from the heart of the Grand Strand, you will truly test your game on this “hidden gem” off Highway 9.

Great, fun little course with some challenging holes. Some holes require precise shots, but that makes it fun. Wish I played better. This was our second visit to Aberdeen and I also wish we would have been able to play the Woodlands side since we haven't played this side. The way the tee sheets are set up in the morning though, I'm not sure it's doable. Another review mentioned bring bug spray and I would concur with this.

There are too many holes with blind shots that include water that you can't see till it's too late. There should be better course markings letting players know water is in play and how far it is to the water. We have scratched this course from our list to play again.

Course is highly underrated, always in great condition and one of the most beautiful courses on the strand.
