Designed by Gene Hamm and Tom Jackson, the Plantation features 27 exciting holes of golf that was built on 800 pristine acres of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway. The 27 holes are split into three different courses based on animals that were found inhabiting these areas when the course was built – Fox, Otter, and Bear.

The interesting aspect of the three nines is they can be played in three different 18-hole options, Bear-Fox, Otter-Bear and Fox-Otter (a fan favorite). River Oaks has recently undergone major renovations with 2,500+ trees cut down, and new Champion Bermuda greens that are said to be in immaculate condition.

OK to average course - layout OK, but it was not kept up as well as the other courses we played. Very average club house, but the staff were nice. Very dry and it was almost like you were playing on cement in some areas. Greens were hard & fast; probably would not return.
