10 Myrtle Beach Golf Courses among Golfweek’s “Best You Can Play in South Carolina”

In its recently released list for 2016, Golfweek Magazine has named 10 Grand Strand designs to its course list of the 15 “Best You Can Play in South Carolina.” The top two courses in this listing have regularly showcased PGA Tour events, with the Ocean Course at Kiawah hosting the 2012 PGA Championship and 1991 Ryder Cup, and Harbour Town Golf Links annually hosting the RBC Heritage since 1969.

The full listing for South Carolina (with Myrtle Beach-area courses highlighted in bold) includes:

2. Harbour Town Golf Links, Hilton Head Island

3. The Dunes Golf & Beach Club, Myrtle Beach

4. May River Course at Palmetto Bluff, Bluffton

5. Caledonia Golf & Fish Club, Pawleys Island

6. True Blue, Pawleys Island

7. Tidewater Plantation GC, North Myrtle Beach

8. The Walker Course at Clemson, Clemson

9. Palmetto Dunes (Jones), Hilton Head Island

10. Myrtle Beach National (King’s North), Myrtle Beach

11. TPC Myrtle Beach, Murrells Inlet

12. Legends Golf Complex (Moorland), Myrtle Beach

13. Barefoot Resort (Dye), North Myrtle Beach

14. The Heritage Club, Pawleys Island

15. Grande Dunes GC, Myrtle Beach

The Dunes Golf & Beach Club (No. 25) and Caledonia (No. 26) were also selected for inclusion in Golfweek’s prestigious nationwide list of “Best Resort Courses, 2016”; Barefoot Resort’s Dye and Fazio courses, Grande Dunes Resort Club, Legends’ Moorland course and Myrtle Beach National’s King’s North course were also honored the “Next 100” section of their Resort Courses listing.

In Golfweek’s list of the nation’s “Best Modern Courses, 2016,” Caledonia checks in at No. 141, while The Dunes Club (No. 107) is also featured among Golfweek’s “Best Classic Courses, 2016.” Tidewater Plantation was also honored among Golfweek’s “Next 100” in its nationwide listing of “Best Residential Courses, 2016.”
