Tradition Golf Club1027 Willbrook Dr., Pawleys Island, SC 29582
Celebrating its 20th anniversary year in 2015, Tradition Golf Club is an 18-hole championship course designed by Ron Garl. It was nominated as best New Public Course by Golf Digest in 1996. Other awards include “Top Fairways” by Golf for Women in 1998, South Carolina Golf Course of the Year in 2001, and 4 1/2 Stars in Golf Digest’s “Places to Play” in 2008. The friendly, knowledgeable staff is dedicated to warmly welcoming all guests. Located in the Lowcountry plantations of Pawleys Island, Tradition Club is the course of choice for visitors and locals alike. Its generous tree-lined fairways provide golfers an opportunity to pull driver out of the bag.
Two island greens, fairway and waste bunkers, and environmental areas provide the strategic challenges that make the course one to play over and over again. Subtle breaks on the well-conditioned Bermuda greens, many of which slope from back to front, require good shot-making skills. The signature 7th hole is a short par 4 with an island green and must be played with precision. There is a spacious target-style practice facility with bunkers and a practice green for putting and chipping. Men and women, juniors and seniors, low-handicappers and high-handicappers alike enjoy playing Tradition Club.
