<p><strong>What is your favorite hole at Burning Ridge and why?</strong></p>

<p>For me it would have to be par 5 15th. Any opportunity I get to pull driver and swing as hard I can I love to take it. The hole plays about 481 yards from the back tees with a large landing area and a slight dogleg right. A good drive matched with an accurate second shot definitely brings eagle into play. <em>(15th pictured pictured right)</em></p>

<p><strong>What is one thing about&nbsp;Burning Ridge that will surprise people?</strong></p>

<p>How player-friendly the golf course is. It’s a general misconception that a golf course that is routed through neighborhoods is going to be tight and unforgiving, but that is not the case for Burning Ridge. Wide Fairways paired with five sets of tee boxes for all ages and player types make the course enjoyable for everyone.</p>

<p><strong>Best advice for a good round at Burning Ridge</strong></p>

<p>There is one thing while playing Burning Ridge that I always try to keep in mind. Leaving the ball below the hole is a must. Most greens on the course slope back to front and being above the hole can possibly lead to some putts that can get away from you. Avoid those nasty three putts!</p>

<p><strong>Other than yours, what is your favorite Myrtle Beach-area course and why?</strong></p>

<p>Other than Burning Ridge there are two other courses that I couldn’t pick one over the other. <u><a href="https://www.mbn.com/courses/river-club">River Club</a></u> and <u><a href="https://www.mbn.com/courses/litchfield-country-club">Litchfield Country Club</a></u> on the south end will always be special to me. I’ve had the pleasure of working at both and the combination of great conditions, unique layouts, and Lowcountry hospitality definitely sets them apart.</p>

<p><strong>What is the biggest misconception people have about the golf industry?</strong></p>

<p>That golf is old fashioned and boring. At first glance for people considering the game it can look that way. I’ll say once you experience the modern golf community and the excitement of your first great golf shot, it’s very easy to get hooked. The pursuit of that great shot feeling and to get better makes golf the great sport that it is.</p>

<p><strong>What is your best round ever and where was it?</strong></p>

<p>The best round I ever played was on <u><a href="https://www.mbn.com/courses/myrtle-beach-national-kings-north">King’s North at Myrtle Beach National</a></u>. On genuinely one of the best layouts on the Grand Strand I was able to put together a bogey free 68. I had good idea on how to play the course after serving as the first assistant there for almost 4 years and believe me, it almost took all of that time to learn it.</p>

<p><strong>Quick advice on how someone can improve their golf game</strong></p>

<p>Anyone who knows me knows I am a huge advocate for taking yourself less seriously on the golf course. The more you accept that every shot is not going to be perfect the easier it is to be calm, cool, and collected. Find a simple routine, stick to it, and most importantly just have fun!</p>

<p>Currently I have a growing family with a 3-month-old daughter and 2 dogs that we love to bring everywhere with us. Sneaky Beagle in Myrtle Beach has very quickly become our favorite restaurant because we can all enjoy it together, dogs included. The food is great and the customer service is top notch. You also cannot go wrong with anywhere along the Marshwalk in Murrells Inlet.</p>

<p><strong>If I wasn’t a Golf Professional I would be a…..</strong></p>

<p>Growing up my first love was the game of baseball. I played my entire childhood and went on to play in college. If I wasn’t a golf professional I would have definitely wanted to be a baseball coach. I love passing on my knowledge of the sport to whoever wants to learn and luckily I get to do that in my current profession.</p>

<p>Currently the number one course on my bucket list would be St. Andrews. The thought of going where the game started and being surrounded by all of that history is something I hope to get to experience. I also have to throw Augusta National in there as well, but I’m pretty sure I’m not alone in saying that for obvious reasons.</p>
