<p>The inaugural <a href="https://myrtlebeachclassic.com/">Myrtle Beach Classic</a> was a resounding success &#8211; attracting more than 40,000 fans while earning the praise of PGA Tour players &#8211; and if you are looking to attend the second annual event, the dates for the 2025 tournament have been released.</p>

<p>The PGA Tour will return to the <a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/the-dunes-golf-and-beach-club">Dunes Golf &amp; Beach Club</a> May 8-11, bringing the game’s premier tour back to America’s most popular golf destination. The tournament will again be an opposite field event, showcasing many of the game’s rising young stars.</p>

<p>Chris Gotterup fired a final round 67 and finished at 22-under, good for a six-stroke win and his first PGA Tour victory in the 2024 tournament. While the 24-year-old Gotterup cruised to victory, there was plenty of excitement throughout the week.</p>

<p>Danish pro Thorbjorn Olesen shot a blistering 10-under par 61 in the fourth round, setting a new course record at the famed Dunes Club, and several players who contended in Myrtle Beach used their success as a springboard, winning shortly thereafter.</p>

<p>Robert MacIntyre, a member of the victorious 2023 Euro Ryder Cup team, played well at the Dunes Club, finished T8 at the PGA Championship the following week, and then won the RBC Canadian Open.</p>

<p>Davis Thompson finished third in Myrtle Beach, starting a run that saw him finish T9 at the U.S. Open and T2 at the Rocket Mortgage Classic before breaking through to win the John Deere Classic in July for his first Tour victory.</p>

<p>Speaking to the quiet strength of the field, Myrtle Beach Classic participants went on to win three of the next eight PGA Tour events with the other five tournaments being won by Xander Schauffele (PGA Championship), Bryson DeChambeau (U.S. Open), Scottie Scheffler (Memorial and Travelers) and Cam Davis (Rocket Mortgage).</p>

<p>Aside from the long-hitting Gotterup, the biggest stories of the week were 16-year-old Blades Brown, a decorated junior, making the cut with a strong finish on Friday and riding that momentum to a T26 finish, and Alistair Docherty, who received a sponsor exemption into the event, surging to a second-place showing with a searing 64 on Sunday.</p>
