<p>Has anyone ever told you to bend your knees? Well, I want you to take that terminology, toss it out, and replace it with flex the knees, because that&#8217;s actually what we&#8217;re doing when we set up in our golf posture is we&#8217;re slightly flexing the knees. Let me show you. When I address this ball right here, if I&#8217;m bending my knees too much, my knees are going to come over the toes, and then what happens is my pelvis gets tucked in, and then ultimately, I get locked up in the swing because I&#8217;m not able to rotate. This is all I can rotate right here with my knees over my toes like this.</p>

<p>So how do you correct that? Well, one, stand taller. Two, you can grab your club, turn it upside down, place the shaft against your knees while you&#8217;re getting into the proper posture here. The butt of the club is going to go in the middle of the shoe, maybe the second or the third shoelace. So it&#8217;s going to look like this. Club is vertical. Now, if you have too much bend, what&#8217;s going to happen is when you try this, the club is going to be leaning forward like that. So if you see your club leaning forward, it&#8217;s all right. This is fixable. Just bring the club back, let your knee rest against the shaft, and really absorb that feeling, so that way you can start to get used to setting up like this because it is a change in the golf swing, but it&#8217;s going to be a really positive change for your swing. So it&#8217;s going to look just like this.</p>

<p>Now, I&#8217;m going to go ahead and take the club off. I&#8217;m going to go ahead and get set up into the proper posture. I&#8217;m standing tall. I&#8217;m adding just a little bit of flex on my knees. As I&#8217;m looking down, just doing a double check on my knees, I actually can see all of my shoelaces, so you can do a second check as you set up to the ball. So I see all of my shoelaces. I&#8217;m good posture-wise to get my aim and alignment set up here. And I&#8217;m just going to give it a nice, easy swing just like that. That was a good shot. And so I got maximum rotation because I had the proper posture. So that is a great fundamental for you to work on. Don&#8217;t bend your knees, just flex your knees. Give it a shot.</p>
