This acclaimed P.B. Dye design earned the honor by excelling in four key areas: the exceptional quality of its golf course, the strength of its ownership and management, its contributions to the local community, and its impact on growing the game of golf.</p>

<p>The par-5 17th hole is among Myrtle Beach’s most daunting tests, with water running along the entire left side from tee to green, demanding both courage and precision. The closing hole — a 396-yard par-4 from the white tees — is equally dramatic, with water lurking to the right and an approach shot framed beautifully by the club’s stately, Southern-style clubhouse. It’s a finish that players don’t soon forget.</p>

This award program, launched by the National Golf Course Owners Association in 1996, has highlighted many of the region’s premier courses over the decades. Past recipients include some of the Grand Strand’s most celebrated names — <a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/tournament-player-club">TPC Myrtle Beach</a>,<a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/tidewater-golf-club-plantation"> Tidewater</a>, <a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/the-dunes-golf-and-beach-club">The Dunes Club</a>, <a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/world-tour-golf-links">World Tour Golf Links</a>, and <a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/myrtle-beach-national-kings-north">King’s North at Myrtle Beach National</a>, to name just a few.</p>
