<p>The <strong><a href="https://www.mbn.com/golf-events/george-holliday-memorial-junior-tournament">George Holliday Memorial Junior Tournament</a></strong> is a Grand Strand institution, attracting some of golf’s premier juniors to Myrtle Beach for decades, and the 55th annual event is expected to do the same.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Entries are now being accepted for the 2023 George Holliday, which is open to boys and girls and will be played <strong>November 23-25 at Myrtle Beach National</strong>. The 54-hole event counts PGA and LPGA Tour players Lucas Glover, D.J. Trahan and Kristy McPherson among its past participants.</p>

<p>The competition divisions are boys ages 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, and 16-18 years of age. There are three age brackets in the girls’ division: 10-12, 13-14, and 15-18 years of age.<br>&nbsp;<br>Golfers are encouraged to register early as the field of 160 players is expected to fill quickly.</p>

<p>Entry into the event is $185 and includes a welcome gift, lunch and range balls on tournament days.</p>

<p>“The George Holliday Memorial Junior Tournament is always a treat to host,” said Ryan Ruddy, Myrtle Beach National’s PGA general manager. “We look forward to welcoming golf’s next generation of young stars to Myrtle Beach National to compete in an event that enjoys a rich history.”</p>

<p>A significant part of the event’s appeal is the trio of Arnold Palmer designed layouts at MBN that host the tournament. The West Course, long renowned for its playability, will provide participants a chance to “go low,” while the challenge at SouthCreek will stiffen, rewarding players who showcase accuracy and discipline.&nbsp;</p>

<p>King’s North is one of the Myrtle Beach golf community’s iconic layouts. The par 5 fifth hole, affectionately known as “The Gambler,” is home to an alternate island fairway that introduces the possibility of reaching the green in two, presenting golfers with an unforgettable risk-reward decision.&nbsp;</p>

<p>George Holliday was a successful junior and collegiate golfer who was tragically killed in a 1967 automobile accident at the age of 22. The Galivants Ferry, S.C. native believed that his experience as a junior golfer was paramount in molding him into the fine young man he became. His family created the tournament to give junior golfers an opportunity to compete in a high-caliber tournament setting.</p>
