The Dan Maples design offers similar scenic appeal and a memorable layout at a fraction of the cost. <p><strong><a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/river-club">River Club</a></strong><br>Staying in the same neighborhood, River Club is another under-the-radar Pawleys Island gem. While this Tom Jackson design doesn’t play along a river, it more than makes up for it with a collection of conversation-driving holes. It’s a stern but fair test, typically outstanding conditions. With a relatively low profile, River Hills consistently exceeds expectations, which is a key ingredient in being a course golfers love. <em>(River Hills 13th right)</em></p>

<p><strong><a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/man-o-war">Man O’War</a></strong><br>Finding a truly unique course in Myrtle Beach isn’t easy, but Man O’War fits the bill. Built around a 107-acre lake, water comes into play on every hole (don’t worry, it’s not as intimidating as it sounds). The layout delivers a memorable experience, highlighted by an island hole and golf’s only back-to-back island greens.</p>

PineHills is the less prominent of Myrtlewood’s two courses &#8211; the <a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/myrtlewood-golf-club-palmetto">Palmetto</a> plays along the Intracoastal &#8211; and most people think of it as a layout with a great location, but there is so much more to it. A recent bunker renovation has elevated the experience, it’s an easy walk, and it’s the kind of course that leaves you eager to tee it up again. <em>(PineHills 17th right)</em></p>
