The average schedulers among us understand how to get an early tee time on the weekends during the fall.
But when it comes to merging from the links to a location to watch your favorite football teams, a little bit of local’s knowledge can go a long way. Nestled amid the scores of golf courses South Carolina’s Grand Strand has to offer are also an abundance of bars and restaurants that claim to be among the best for food, drinks and football after the golf round.
In order to save you some time, we put together a list of a few of our favorites. They’re scattered around the area, giving you an option no matter what part of town you’re temporarily calling home.

Word of mouth has led more than a handful of soccer-loving golfers from across the pond to this Scottish-style pub over the years. But to typecast it only for “the other” football would be ignorant. One of Carolina Forest’s most established businesses and longest-running original bar has navigated the years by becoming a chameleon of sorts from one day to the next. On Saturdays and Sundays, American football is everywhere. Mid-sized TVs adorn all of the walls, and individual sets are mounted next to most of the booths.

One of the best parts of King Street is that while it branched out from its original location in Charleston is that the restaurant has continued to impress with a solid menu. There’s a wide choice of made-from-scratch burgers, the wings are fatter than your usual joint and &#8211; for those watching the calorie count &#8211; a salad selection bridges the gap between football and food better than expected. What’s more, all of this is combined with a sports theme that allows for a boatload of football on the weekends that makes partial owner and Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger quite proud.

Island Bar has two primary systems in place for watching games, and a pretty high-quality third &#8220;back-up&#8221; plan. Those looking to enjoy the weather with the game as a back drop can sit out on the patio, taking advantage of the flatscreens available there. Or, for those looking to digest all the games along with wings or the dangerously delicious Philly fries (think a cheese steak, but on French fries), the upstairs seating option offers 30-plus televisions and NFL flags and jerseys to brighten the spirit. Combined with its prime downstairs interior seating, and two decades worth of golfers on the south end have made their way to Island Bar after a round.
