The Waccamaw Golf Trail of Pawley’s Island remains America’s most awarded golf trail and is home to twelve destination golf experiences on the beautiful Hammock Coast. And the Tradition Club shines as one of the area’s most enjoyed courses by both local residents and annual vacationers. This vision of Ron Garl has come to life to create 18 truly memorable holes carved from a historic 16th century rice plantation. Meandering through the indigenous maritime forest of pines and low country oaks, this moderate length, par 72 incorporates the perfect blend of doglegs with short par threes and plenty of water hazards offering stunning visuals such as an early morning dawn here at the par-three second. Golfers seldom see other players on the course as each hole stands alone with its own challenge. Expansive waste bunkers are beautifully incorporated on many holes presenting more of a visual concern than actually in play. Tradition is perhaps the only course on the Grand Strand to have two island greens…the first here on the par-four seventh and again on the par-three fifteenth…challenging even the most strong-minded players. Opened in 1996, the Tradition Club is proud to have been honored as the ‘South Carolina Golf Course of the Year’ in 2001 and best new public course by Golf Digest when first opened. With sprawling live oaks found on many holes, Tradition’s historical setting is self-evident, beautifully refined by Ron Garl. The laid back low-country lifestyle couldn’t be more at home here at Tradition. Come discover what Hammock Coast residents have known for years…a long-standing tradition of classic low-country Carolina just 20 minutes south of Myrtle Beach. The Tradition Club…an experience like none other…only in Pawley’s Island, South Carolina!
