MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. | When only the best will do, you pick the best gear, the best courses, and the best stay accommodations. Why skimp on the meals?
Myrtle Beach has a niche among the mid-range restaurants capable of packing a punch without the dollar bills attached. It’s a product of the reasonably priced family and group vacation. For those who don’t mind opening the wallets, though, those fancier dining spots are right there for the taking.
Chances are, if you’re playing a specific course, you’re staying close to that course. So, we’ve paired these joints up with a nearby round. It gives you plenty of time to shower up, put on a (cleaner) shirt and get after it come dinner time with more success than your game probably presented.

There aren’t many “old money” eateries in Myrtle Beach. And to be honest, we’re quite frankly not that old. <a href="https://www.seacaptains.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sea Captain’s</a> started from relatively humble beginnings, but what it’s turned out to be is everything we want out of oceanfront dining at the beach. The seafood earns its keep plus some, and it’s got the touches that make us expand our horizons.

Certified angus beef short rib, buttermilk mashed potatoes, collard greens with Applewood smoked bacon, crumbled bleu cheese and cider braising liquid reduction. That’s one menu description. You hungry yet? <a href="http://www.bistro217.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bistro 217’s</a> fare brings the flavor before you even see your food, which is exactly what you want out of your fine dining.

A Mediterranean place that has one heck of a Kentucky Mule? We’re in. Sit down at the table, ask for the cocktail and peruse the menu. How much do we love this place? It&#8217;s currently undergoing a full-scale inside renovation that will allow it to re-open unlike ever before. That won&#8217;t stop us from following along with the progress. The moment it’s back, we’ll all be rewarded. (Top photo)

When a place charges $29 for shrimp and grits, it isn’t playing around. Everything here is going to impress, even if the hours of operation are still relatively limited due to private functions. The reservation line is virtually required, but you’re going to get even more than meets the eye. Take in all that food and near the end order that Black Diamond Margarita. (Pictured right)
