The big dogs don’t want to stay on the porch. 
And you don’t want yours to stay in your bag. 
Amid the six tracks located at properties inside Myrtle Beach city limits, you’ll have every opportunity to use that driver in an effort to achieve immortality &#8211; well, as least for one day. These four Par 5s are as memorable as you’d hope. 
They include a blind tee shot, an unbelievably wide fairway, an all-but-guaranteed layup and a double dogleg. Obviously, writing down a five on the scorecard on any of these is the goal. 
But you’re about to find out that’s easier said than done.
EDITOR’S NOTE: This is part of a multi-story package highlighting the five golf sites (and six courses) within Myrtle Beach city limits or on properties that are at least partially within those limits. It’s a small portion of an overall metropolitan market that boasts 90 total courses, but a demographic that carries the true namesake location.

Standing on the tee box on the fifth hole at Pine Lakes immediately lets you know that this Par-70 course didn’t mess around with its two chances at a high-quality Par 5. That’s because during most parts of the calendar, it’s essentially a semi-blind tee shot over natural vegetation into a skinny fairway that doglegs to the left. Plenty of shots here that players believed would be in good shape are donated to the course. And that’s only the first shot of this 498-yarder. Nervous yet? 
<a href="https://www.mbn.com/courses/myrtlewood-golf-club-palmetto">MYRTLEWOOD GOLF CLUB PALMETTO COURSE</a>, NO. 10 
If you’re thinking about a bomber’s paradise, no hole on this list exudes that feeling more than the 10th hole at Palmetto. This fairway is unbelievably wide, allowing golfers the opportunity to grip it and rip it unlike even many of the longest holes anywhere in the Myrtle Beach metropolitan. You’re going to want that luxury, as even the white tees are 503 yards from the green. Only four bunkers dot all that turf, meaning anyone finding any of those trouble areas might as well go ahead and stock up on lottery tickets.

Everyone likes to talk about No. 13 at Dunes, the famed hole typically known as “Waterloo”. But we decided to spread the wealth to another of this classic course’s longer holes. We went right to its first Par 5. Most folks who play this one are going to be tee off from no further than 430 yards away. However, two bunkers that catch plenty of first shots are followed by a small pond that cuts off the green from the final yardage of the fairway requires all but three shots to the dance floor for darn near everyone.
WHISPERING PINES GOLF COURSE, NO. 14 
Across the street from Myrtle Beach International Airport, the one-time nine-hole course meant to entertain military officers from the former air base expanded into a full 18 that has been catering to everyone else for some time. Arguably the best hole on the entire course is the Par 5 No. 14. The double bend &#8211; first over a large pond and then back to the right around a thick tree line &#8211; is a challenging yet ultra-rewarding stretch of land. It’s one of those memorable holes that sticks with players who are frequently jetting in or out of Myrtle Beach just prior or after their rounds.
