<p>When it comes to this game, however, we know Par 4s are going to be the most common thing we face. Most Par 72 courses will have 10 of them, and their ability to equally stand out and confound.</p>

<p>Along the south end of Myrtle Beach’s Golf Capital USA, we’d like to highlight five who do just that.</p>

<p><strong><a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/willbrook-plantation">WILLBROOK</a>, NO. 1</strong><br>Dan Maples didn’t waste any time getting to what is nothing short of a very difficult hole. The 400-yarder (from the whites) includes a 60-degree turn less than halfway up the fairway and has a number of trees protecting both sides of the dogleg. And since most players aren’t exactly hitting their best shots this early in the round, all that noise seems even louder.</p>

<p><strong><a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/tradition-golf-club">TRADITION GOLF CLUB</a>, NO. 8</strong><br>We love the look of this hole and all its nooks and crannies &#8211; and believe us that there are plenty of them throughout the 408-yarder. The tee boxes are laid out in such a way that players are almost propped up to hit across the fairway to the right side. That’s by design, and where you’re going to want to be standing when hitting your second shot. If not, trouble awaits.</p>

<p><strong><a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/tournament-player-club">TPC MYRTLE BEACH</a>, NO. 15</strong><br>Standing on the tee box overlooking a large natural waste area, you’re going to feel the pinch to really get everything you’ve got out of your driver. The issue with that line of thinking is two-fold. One, if you don’t and the ball ends up in the grass, you’re never going to see it again. <p><strong><a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/caledonia-golf-and-fish-club">CALEDONIA GOLF &amp; FISH CLUB</a>, NO. 15</strong><br>While the 16th at Caledonia is the course’s No. 1 handicap, the additional distance of the prior hole &#8211; and its significant 80-degree dogleg &#8211; often leave players scoring worse here. A large waste bunker at the interior of the left bend swallows up plenty of tee shots, as does the tree line beyond the exterior of the dogleg. Only those who find the sweet spot can attack on the second.</p>

<p><strong><a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/pawleys-plantation">PAWLEYS PLANTATION GOLF &amp; COUNTRY CLUB</a>, NO. 16</strong><br>From the dogleg to the marsh and right on up to to a green that is protected by three bunkers which includes a waste bunker behind the green. This is definitely one of the tougher holes on an all-around tough course. If there’s a saving grace in all that, it’s that the green itself is bigger than many of the others at Pawleys Plantation, meaning you’re not guaranteed a bad score.</p>
