Garl manipulated the land in near-perfect fashion, allowing you to zip across the Par 4s and even most of the Par 5s in crisp fashion. Players have been known to back-up to the tournament tees here and there just to add a challenge, while others have gone the other direction. <p><strong>LAYOUT BEAUTIES FROM THE WORD ‘GO’</strong><br>There is trouble at Tradition. No course would be complete, or profitable, if it was just gimme after gimme. However, what is happening here is nothing that is going to trick you up or come as a surprise. At an almost perfect rate, lines of sight to bunkers, tree lines, greens and water are 20/20. You see it, you attack it. If a shot isn’t there, you’re probably going to know it before you try to hit it. No, we can’t stop you from hitting the occasional slice or duck hook, but we can promise you your targets will be clear.</p>

<p><strong>BUNKER LIVING</strong><br>None of us want to be hitting out of sand. It hurts your card and nobody wants it getting into their socks. Yet, oversized bunkers &#8211; both of the waste and traditional variety &#8211; are prevalent from the get go, so you might just want to brace yourself. If you do find yourself in one (or two), though, all is not lost. Tradition has spent a pretty penny keeping this of the utmost quality. That means you might just have yourself a great opportunity to go from zero to here with a sand save.</p>

<p><strong>FORCED CARRIES TO THE GREEN</strong><br>Maybe Garl’s best work at <a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/tradition-golf-club">Tradition</a> was how he handled getting to the green in a similar-but-different way. No. 7, No. 14 and No. 15 all require you to fly water to get to the green. But here’s the fun part: The first is a Par 4, the second is a Par 5 and the third is a Par 3. We’re not sure we’ve seen that too often, and while it clearly forces you to get up and over (or be extremely lucky with a Jesus ball), the element of consistency is a great addition that certainly wasn’t necessary.</p>
