Meredith:           We are back again, live here at Myrtlewood Golf Club, thanks for joining us here at If you missed it, Ryan and I, head golf professional, he took me out on number 18 and we played the finishing hole here. Absolutely incredible. So if you can go back on your Facebook feed, go back and watch us play that hole, because it is a must play in Myrtle Beach. We are in the heart of Myrtle Beach right now. We're centered right by the airport, and then we talked about the Intracoastal Waterway, it's actually right behind us, and it is amazing. And if you take a look at this sign here, a lot of people don't realize that the Intracoastal Waterway it can take you to Miami and to New York. So, you have the airport, you could come here on a boat.

Ryan:                     A boat I hear.

Meredith:           Whatever way you come to Myrtle Beach, you are gonna love playing Myrtlewood Golf Club. So you definitely got to add it on your bucket list.

Ryan:                     A must play.

Meredith:           Yeah.

Ryan:                     A must play.

Meredith:           It is a must play. This course is amazing and that hole is awesome. And Ryan, you've got to go back and watch it, just for his drive. He drove it over what, like 300 yards.

Ryan:                     It was a good drive, I'll take it. I'm not going to complain with that.

Meredith:           That was awesome. But you know the condition of the course-

Ryan:                     Oh, phenomenal.

Meredith:           It is amazing.

Ryan:                     Both courses are in great shape right now.

Meredith:           And the greens are rolling perfect, and not a lot of humidity today here.

Ryan:                     No, thank God. We got a little bit of a breeze, which is nice.

Meredith:           Yeah, we do. And a lot of people think it's always just hot and stifling and humid, but not necessarily, we have some really good days where it's not real humid, like today.

Ryan:                     Yeah, it's kind of ideal. Like you said, with the waterway, it provides us a little bit of breeze in the afternoon so humidity is not as bad as if you were further inland. It's almost like you're on the beach when you're playing, which is nice.

Meredith:           Absolutely.

Ryan:                     Has a laid back feel.

Meredith:           Well I want to talk a little bit about the two courses here because a lot people don't realize that it's a 36-hole facility. So tell me a little bit about the courses here.

Ryan:                     Sure. Actually I think the unique thing about Myrtlewood is we have two courses, the Palmetto and PineHills, and the greatest thing is that they're completely different from each other. So it's not like if you play Palmetto you have the same feeling as PineHills, which I think is great at one location.

So Palmetto's kind of your traditional golf course where, like I said earlier, that you're, kind of like warms you up with some nice, more wide open holes, greens are not as undulated, kind of straight forward play, and as you get to the backside, like 14-18 is where we hit the really heart of the golf course with some really nice signature holes.

Then with PineHills, it's a shorter golf course, but it kind of goes on both sides of the property. It's an Arthur Hill's design, so we kind of, has a little bit of Pete Dye feel to it, a little more strategic golf play. You can hit multiple tee balls, you're long here you can take the driver, you could take a 3-wood, so you have so much more character in some of the holes in there at PineHills.

Meredith:           That's great.

Ryan:                     Yeah, the greens are a little smaller and actually more undulated, which is a little more break, it'll help. "Oh, I got to see the other course," so that's one of the greatest things about Myrtlewood. Obviously, they hear all the pros and stuff, all the waterways, that's their first initial because the view is just spectacular, but once they play that course, like, "You got to play PineHills."

Meredith:           Absolutely.

Ryan:                     So, we do run some two-course specials, which are great.

Meredith:           That's great.

Ryan:                     You play one and you get a discount on the other.

Meredith:           There you go. So you can play both the courses here-

Ryan:                     So, it's a no-brainer.

Meredith:           Yeah, it is. And also you have a great practice facility.

Ryan:                     Yes, we do.

Meredith:           You have a large range and large putting areas and right here, you even have bunkers that you can practice out of.

Ryan:                     Yeah, it's perfect. The range is open to the public, right next to the range is a huge putting green, where you can chip and putt, hit some pitch shots there. If you want to come back and hang out next to the waterway, again, or grab a nice, cold beer sitting on the deck. You can practice at our other putting green and you can also chip and putt on just right next to the waterway, which is good.

Meredith:           Yeah, this is a great course and the staff here, I have to say, I've been out here a dozen times, and your staff is amazing, very friendly, very helpful. I was walking in with my golf bag and they immediately just grabbed it from me. They're like, "You're not going to carry that," and they're like that with everybody. The service here is just top-notch.

Ryan:                     Yeah, we have a great team, a great staff inside and out. We really pride ourself on customer service.

Meredith:           Is there anything else that we haven't discussed that you would like to mention here about Myrtlewood?

Ryan:                     I think the best thing, once you're done with your rounds, you set addition of our deck as you kind of see next to the clubhouse there, hang out, sit back, have a cocktail or two right on the deck, still catch the views of the waterway, kind of take in the intracoastal feel.

Meredith:           Right.

Ryan:                     Like I said, it's not really the beach, but it gives you the same feel and relaxation.

Meredith:           It does, yeah, and I know a lot of visitors that come to Myrtle Beach, a lot of them would choose the intracoastal waterway over the ocean.

Ryan:                     Right.

Meredith:           Yeah, so it's becoming very popular, and again, you can come here by boat, right?

Ryan:                     Yeah.

Meredith:           But if not, the airport is literally what, just a few miles down the road here?

Ryan:                     Oh, minutes. We're minutes away from all the major resorts, even Broadway at the Beach, they're down the street from us.

Meredith:           Yeah, it's right down the street, so-

Ryan:                     About 15 minutes from the airport.

Meredith:           That's right. So husbands, if you bring your wives to Myrtle Beach, you can come out here and play golf with the guys, and the wife can go down and do some great shopping down at Broadway at the Beach, and ladies, if you like to play golf, this is a very player-friendly course. There's a lot of women that come out here and play. I love this course, I was able to play it and get up-

Ryan:                     And you got a par.

Meredith:           Hey, I got a par.

Ryan:                     Heck of an up and down.

Meredith:           I'm taking that up and down.

Ryan:                     Yes.

Meredith:           Yeah, but it is player-friendly for women and junior golfers. You have a program where in the afternoons, junior golfers can come out here and play.

Ryan:                     Yeah, we got a great kid's play free program. So it's kind of a one-on-one basis of an adult and a child, 16 and under can come out, and there's no charge for that too, here.

Meredith:           That's amazing, and this is a great way to get your child involved in golf on a family golf vacation. What better way to spend quality time with your son or daughter or your grandchildren, out on this beautiful course on the Intracoastal Waterway. This in itself is a vacation.

Ryan:                     Oh, hands down.

Meredith:           Yeah, and so if you were interested in booking your next Myrtle Beach golf vacation, you can go to and, also Ryan, your website here.

Meredith:           Yeah, so you can go to either of those two websites and book your next golf vacation. Come play Myrtlewood Golf Club. Ryan, it is a pleasure. I just want to hang out here all day. I think I might go on your deck and just chill.

Ryan:                     It's kind of addicting.

Meredith:           It is. Very relaxing feel, I just love that. That's just the word that keeps running through my mind, talking about this course, but thank you so much for having us out.

Ryan:                     Thank you for having us.

Meredith:           And I will be back again for sure.

Ryan:                     All right. Enjoyed it.

Meredith:           Thanks for joining us.
