MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. | It’s not every year that Valentine’s Day falls on a Friday. And if there’s an excuse for you and your better half to take a day off from work and scoot to the Grand Strand golfing mecca, this is it. February temps here frequently pay homage to the golf gods. If you are looking for a date on the links and then a top-notch dinner after the fact, this is your locale. No matter which part of the beach you’re on, courses and cuisine are two things we’ve become adept at mastering.
MYRTLE BEACH CENTRAL 
Myrtle Beach’s first golf course has been re-fashioned in a few ways over the years, and what has remained a constant at <a href="https://www.mbn.com/courses/pine-lakes-country-club">Pine Lakes Country Club</a> is its inviting nature for all available tee boxes. As it stands, the whites play from a deceivingly shorter-than-you-would-think 6,300 yards (especially for a Par-70 round) while the ladies tees go off from just 4,758. Both players will be able to hit driver off the tee time and again with plenty of confidence. 
Just southeast of Pine Lakes rests <a href="https://www.seacaptains.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sea Captain’s House</a>, the ultimate date-night dining option in city limits. Everything about this menu is as close to perfect as you could hope for. Eating any of it mere steps from the Atlantic adds to the experience. 
NORTH STRAND 
Teeing it up at <a href="https://www.mbn.com/courses/fazio-at-barefoot-resort">Barefoot Resort &amp; Golf’s Fazio Course</a> is pure enjoyment for everyone. The track is crisp, not overbearing for the most part and there are five sets of tee boxes that span a 2,000-yard difference between the ladies and tips on the Par-71 scorecard. You’re going to get the white-glove treatment that Barefoot offers on all four of its tracks. This is, frankly, top-end golf re-imagined for anyone who steps onto the grounds.
The same goes for dinner, where at nearby <a href="https://www.21mainatnorthbeach.com/">21 Main Prime Steakhouse</a> you’re going to be able to deliver the bells and whistles that a Valentine’s Day date craves. SOUTH STRAND 
Dan Maples’ layout at <a href="https://www.mbn.com/courses/willbrook-plantation">Willbrook Plantation</a> in Pawleys Island has been frequently lauded as one that’s scores high on the charts for women and seniors. Don’t typecast it as some type of course that can’t trick up even the most skilled among any gender or age range. The appeal with Willbrook is meant to be had not necessarily by those who can mash or are scratch players. Rather, all of the redeeming qualities are maxed out by those who can think their way through a round, regardless of tee selection.
<a href="http://www.bistro217.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bistro 217</a> is a common trek for those staying in the heart of Myrtle Beach, as the drive to Pawleys Island for dinner has proved more than worth the few miles separating the two municipalities. For those already on the south end, it’s all the more worth it. Divide the two meals between surf and turf, and then switch halfway through.
