<p><strong>NO. 5, PAR 4, 389 YARDS</strong><br>We can’t begin to tell you how many players here inappropriately try to cut the corner of the dogleg up the left-hand side and end up regretting the decision. This mid-range Par 4 requires nothing short of a nicely played tee shot in order to keep par in play, let alone a birdie.</p>

<p>What first timers don’t understand is that the trouble of the dogleg is only one half of the equation. That’s because the three front-side bunkers swallow up a ton of approach shots into this oversized and recently renovated green. Reaching the bunker in two isn’t easy, especially if you start out behind the eight ball. </p>

<p><strong>NO. 8, PAR 5, 523 YARDS</strong><br>By far the most difficult Par 5 during a round at Palmetto is this one. In no uncertain terms, snowmen are frequent here, even for those who don’t somehow find the water up the right-hand side. Most everyone is going to aim away from the drink, and that’s where the real trouble come into play.</p>

<p>A fairway bunker up the left side will be in play for big hitters off the tee and/or anyone who duffs the second shot after aiming left.</p>

<p><strong>NO. 14, PAR 4, 366 YARDS</strong><br>One of the most beautiful holes on <a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/myrtlewood-golf-club-palmetto">Palmetto</a> is also one of its most dangerous. Don’t get distracted by the backdrop that includes one of the property’s three-story houses. Nor should you let the water running all the way up the right side dictate your plan.</p>

<p>The ever-slimming fairway will taunt players who bite off more than they can chew, and it’s not the water doing the damage most of the time. Those who attempt to avoid the run-off into the drink overcompensate and find themselves landing atop the think bed of pine straw running all the way up the left.</p>
