From our friends at Beach TV comes this video, where LPGA teaching professional and 2014 Mrs. South Carolina America Meredith Kirk recently took time out to visit with River Hills Golf &amp; Country Club&#8217;s general manager, Harriss D&#8217;Antignac, to learn more about one of the Grand Strand&#8217;s great finishing holes – its par-5 18th.

Meredith Kirk: Harriss, tell me a little bit about your playing options for this hole.
Harriss D&#8217;Antignac: From the tee, you&#8217;ll see a mound out here about 225 yards out. Water is a big intimidation factor here, but as long as you can hit it about 225 yards, you&#8217;ll be fine. From that point, you&#8217;ll be about 265 yards from the green, and there are options you can take from there &#8211; whether you want to lay up, or want to go for it.
Meredith: OK, so here we are, standing on that mound that Harriss just mentioned. Tell us about our next shot, and how to approach it from here.
Harriss: From here to the water&#8217;s edge, we&#8217;re about 140 yards. I would suggest that most visiting golfers would want to lay up. The 150-yard marker is about 115 yards from here, so we&#8217;re looking at a very short iron from the mound. If a golfer chooses to try to hit it over the water, which is about 180 yards from here, it&#8217;s going to take a longer iron depending on how accomplished our player is. That would be up to them, but either way, choose wisely from here.
Meredith: OK, I think I&#8217;m going to take the risk today and go over the water (with this second shot), so let&#8217;s go check out our third-shot options from there …
OK, so here we are (examining our options from a greenside viewpoint). What are our best options for finishing this hole?
Harriss: Well, we made it on the green in this case. But most players are going to have a third shot from either 80 yards to 140 yards to a relatively flat green, bunkered left and right, and once again the ever-present water on the right. We&#8217;ve got a Champion Bermuda putting surface here, and most of the putts are fairly flat with not much break to them. So it shouldn&#8217;t be much problem for anyone to walk away with a par or birdie.
