<p><strong><a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/arcadian-shores">ARCADIAN SHORES GOLF CLUB</a></strong><br>Arcadian is on the low end of a distance sweet spot for the types of players we’re talking about here. At 6,026 yards from the whites, your run-of-the-mill golfer will pick up on a precision technique quickly, even if two of the longest holes in the round are Nos. 1 and 3. Get through those two holes (486 yards, 465 yards), and it’s smooth sailing from there. It will be seven holes before you meet another Par 5, and that one’s shorter than the first two.</p>

<p><strong>MYRTLEWOOD GOLF, <a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/myrtlewood-golf-club-pinehills">PINEHILLS</a> &amp; <a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/myrtlewood-golf-club-palmetto">PALMETTO COURSES</a></strong><br>At Myrtlewood, players can take their pick among two of the Grand Strand’s most forgiving courses. The two layouts have been touched up in terms of greens, bunkers, fairways (irrigation) and tee boxes. Trouble spots are few and far between, and typically found more by experienced players trying to shave extra strokes off their already skilled chances. For the rest of us, <a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/myrtlewood-golf-club-pinehills">PineHills</a> and <a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/myrtlewood-golf-club-palmetto">Palmetto</a> offer up a chance to see, plan and execute. <em>(PineHills top photo)</em></p>

<p><strong><a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/myrtle-beach-national-west-course">MYRTLE BEACH NATIONAL, WEST COURSE</a></strong><br>The West Course is a little bit of amazing in terms of what players can expect. While housing the Carolina Forest area of Horry County has absolutely exploded, there are only a handful of spots on the 6,114-yard, Par-72 course where homes are even visible. That removes a would-be distraction for players who are teeing off with anxiety in their back pocket. It will quickly be replaced by a smooth design meant to create flow and rhythm, not beat you to hell and back.</p>

<p><strong>BEACHWOOD GOLF CLUB</strong><br>The listed distance of 6,251 yards from the white tees is accurate. It will feel anything but by the time you&#8217;re done the 18 holes at Beachwood. This Gene Hamm design was built during his heyday, when the famed architect helped create a massive golfing boon in the Myrtle Beach area. He did just that by laying out a course that has only one full-fledged dogleg, a whole bunch of wide fairways, minimal opportunities to lose a ball and very few forced carries.</p>

<p><strong><a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/colonial-charters-golf-club1">COLONIAL CHARTERS GOLF CLUB</a></strong><br>On the surface, some of Colonial Charters’ holes might have players believing it doesn’t belong on this list, but by the time anyone reaches the four forced carries on the back nine, this par-71, 6,033-yard track’s real identity has already come into focus. Attacking this course with even a little bit of a relaxed approach takes the vast majority of the trouble out of the equation. It’s not unheard of for first-time players to shoot their lowest round of a multi-day trip right here at Colonial Charters.</p>
