<p>A little over a decade ago, a seemingly on-again, off-again property that swapped names and changed out grasses and shaved down distance got new life.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/colonial-charters-golf-club1">Colonial Charters Golf Club</a> was given new life, opening under its once proud name for the second time after giving it a go as Palmetto Greens. We were privy to the “new” layout again mere weeks after it opened, and there was plenty of evidence that Colonial Charters could survive.</p>

<p>Now, 10 years later, the course is proof that every anniversary is worth celebrating. And as we head into 2024, the next turn of the calendar will bring about plenty more that deserve praise and distinction.</p>

<p>Seven courses in particular have good reason to crack some champaign welcome in players for another year of excellent golf.</p>

<p><strong>25TH ANNIVERSARIES</strong><br>A duo of area tracks opened their doors in 1999 under drastically different circumstances.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/world-tour-golf-links">World Tour Golf Links</a>, the brainchild of former owner Mel Graham, was designed as a replica course meant to draw memories of some of the most notable golf courses used by the PGA Tour throughout time. St. Andrews, Augusta National, Oakmont, Royal Troon are all represented in bite-sized pieces that players can chew through a hole at a time.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, a few miles south in Murrells Inlet, <a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/tournament-player-club">TPC of Myrtle Beach </a>was built to attract not only fans of professional golf, but those who played it. The course opened its doors with the knowledge that it would soon host the Senior PGA Tour Championship. Since, it has hosted tournaments of various levels, boasting terrific conditions and a challenging design from year one.</p>

<p><strong>30TH ANNIVERSARY</strong><br>Three decades after Mike Strantz’s first solo project was unveiled in 1994, <a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/caledonia-golf-and-fish-club">Caledonia Golf &amp; Fish Club</a> has been hailed as one of the area’s top designs and awarded as such from various rankings services and customer surveys.</p>

<p>The former members-only non-golf property has evolved into what visitors here often refer to as a perfect round capable of highlighting pure natural beauty combined with Strantz’s vision for what this land could ultimately become.</p>

<p><strong>35TH ANNIVERSARIES</strong><br>The 1980s were a boon for Myrtle Beach golf, with some of the most popular architects setting up shop for extended periods of time here.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/prestwick-country-club">Prestwick Country County</a>, <a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/aberdeen-country-club">Aberdeen Country Club </a>and <a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/river-hills-golf-club">River Hills Golf &amp; Country Club</a> all closed out that decade with a bang by opening their doors in 1989. These three courses are about as different as they come. Prestwick is a bear that requires a deft touch. Aberdeen is a bit more free and embedded through the north Strand’s natural environments.
