MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. | You’ve got three full days and nights for your trip to South Carolina’s Grand Strand for a golf vacation with your buddies. This time around, you’re staying inland, to the west of Myrtle Beach City limits. This is where the largest bulk of folks living in the area reside, so your visit is certainly not off the beaten path. Still, maybe you don’t know the area too well, or maybe you’re just not feeling the decision-making process. Breathe easy &#8211; we’ve got you covered. You can utilize this mock timeline and apply it to your trip. We’ve included three rounds, three great restaurants and three entertainment options to mix in with your quickie meals or maybe a visit to the beach.
These are some of our favorite spots for golf, food and fun.
DAY ONE
We’d like to ease you into your first day while you shake off the jet or car lag. That means a course that won’t tear you to shreds. Smack dab between Myrtle Beach and the county seat of Conway is <a href="https://www.mbn.com/courses/wild-wing-plantation-avocet">Wild Wing Plantation</a>, a one-time four-course property that has scaled back to 27 holes. The <a href="https://www.mbn.com/courses/wild-wing-plantation-avocet">Avocet Course</a> here is a straight-line, no-stop-at-the-turn course that allows for freedom off the tee and plenty of great visuals along the way. Smack dab between Myrtle Beach and the county seat of Conway is Wild Wing Plantation, a one-time four-course property that has scaled back to 27 holes. Be it a large selection of appetizers all the way up to the Uncle Jesse &#8211; a ribeye-stuffed burrito &#8211; you won’t leave hungry. After that you can hop just up the road to <a href="https://www.handleyspub.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Handleys Pub &amp; Grub</a>, frequently recognized as Carolina Forest’s longest-running and most successful bar and grill. This place helped inspire a wave of craft beer joints popping up in the area, and chances are you’ll meet a new friend or two.

Conway may be considered in the shadows of Myrtle Beach, but using just this specific area alone, we’re going to load you up on your second full day. You’re going to start at <a href="https://www.mbn.com/courses/shaftesbury-glen">Shaftesbury Glen Golf &amp; Fish Club</a>, a Clyde Johnston track that would probably be a top-20 area course if it was located closer to the beach. The beautiful design up Highway 905 rewards those who make the drive. On your way back, stop in downtown <a href="https://www.rivertownbistro.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Conway at Rivertown Bistro</a>, a magnificent eatery in the heart of scores of mom and pop shops. We’ve yet to have anything on the menu we didn’t like. After grubbing it out, the eastern edge of Conway is starting to truly develop and for one reason &#8211; Coastal Carolina University. Be it a Saturday football game in the fall, regular home basketball games in the winter or watching the baseball team that won the 2016 national championship, the NCAA Division-I Chanticleers will give you reason to always associate with their ultra-unique nickname.
DAY THREE
Now you’re ready for the big dog. <a href="https://www.mbn.com/courses/myrtle-beach-national-kings-north">Arnold Palmer’s King’s North</a> course at Myrtle Beach National is a mainstay in the awards categories, both locally and nationally. It’s your turn to see why this course &#8211; highlighted by the par-5 No. 6 known as “The Gambler” &#8211; is so revered. If plunking a ball or two into the drink next to the island fairway there has you thinking of seafood, Carolina Forest has a nifty restaurant just for you. <a href="http://brothershuckersfishhouse.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Brother Shuckers</a> is tucked in the middle of a small stretch of shops at the north end of Carolina Forest Boulevard. Don’t let its location (or distance from the water) fool you. You’ll have plenty of time in a seat when you’re heading home the next day, so we’re going to help you stretch your legs a bit once more. The newly opened 810 Billiards &amp; Bowling off U.S. 501 is nothing short of an adult playground, especially after dark.
