However, the mystique to trying out something new in a place where the most notable golf courses on Earth are replicated is a different story. By backing up or moving forward (depending on where you start normally), the likes of tackling Augusta National or St. Andrews from a different perspective only makes World Tour that much more intriguing. <p><strong><a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/myrtle-beach-national-southcreek">MYRTLE BEACH NATIONAL SOUTHCREEK</a></strong><br>When the King and his crew showed up to the Myrtle Beach National mega-property in the early 1970s, they were tasked with designing and executing three separate tracks that would each stand out in their own way. In SouthCreek, they laid out 18 holes of beautiful and mostly extremely playable land. There are gentle doglegs and interesting tree lines and wonderful sight lines and just enough sand to keep even regular visitors on their toes.</p>

<p><strong><a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/blackmoor-golf-club">BLACKMOOR GOLF CLUB</a></strong><br>The vast majority of players who head to Blackmoor are going to tee off at fewer than 6,000 yards. We start with that because it’s a brief glimpse into how interesting the design must be. Thanks to a necessary adjustment on No. 6 thanks to some road construction a while back, it’s now a Par 71 track. Don’t let that distract you from how much fun this one can be. There are several risk-reward holes that should be played based almost entirely on feel, and we don’t always feel the same exact way. Enjoy the trek on this Gary Player design.</p>

<p><strong><a href="https://www.mbn.com/course/tradition-golf-club">TRADITION GOLF CLUB</a><br></strong>We’ve played Tradition when the tee sheet is jammed and when we’re the only people on the course (this job has some serious perks). And despite our company or lack thereof, there’s not a lot to dislike about the layout. Between forced carries and island greens, lush grass and forgiving fairways, players can take some serious chances here and there and explore the space without getting crushed for thinking outside the box. Tradition is routinely ranked as one of the most favorable layouts in all of Myrtle Beach golf, and it’s not by accident.</p>

Instead, we think the Par 4 14th is a microcosm of the fun to be had here. This drivable Par 4 includes an elevated green, fairway sand traps that serve as a line-of-sight target and a huge pond on the right. It’s among the mental highlights you’ll make on a straight-line course full of them. You’ll have opportunities to go big time and again, and you’ll find after just one round when to pull out the big dog and when to accept what you’re given. All the while, you’ll notice more of what puts this course on the map.</p>
